Kip Bogdahn - Director of Photography

Kip Bogdahn

Director of Photography Kip Bogdahn is a graduate of Rutgers University where he majored in history and theater. His childhood love of cameras led him to continue this passion and his course of study quickly expanded to include photography and filmmaking. The love of these varied disciplines led to a natural transition into the film business.

From the outset he was extremely focused on becoming a director of photography and after a chance meeting with a well known feature cinematographer in a local camera store, Kip started an apprenticeship. He quickly learned that a complete understanding of lighting and its applications was essential to his aspirations. To meet this end Kip went on to gather a wide breadth of experience by working as a gaffer on many features, commercials and music videos. He then graduated to working as a camera operator and second unit director of photography on such films as “Door in the Floor” and HBO’s “The Laramie Project”.

Kip Bogdahn’s present career as a cinematographer has been an equal blend of award winning narrative and commercial work. Feature credits include soon to be released “Loser’s Take All” (director Alex Steyermark), “Get Well Soon” (director Justin McCarthy), “A Jersey Tale” (director Mike Tolajian/Tribeca Film Festival), “Camp” (director Todd Graff/Sundance Film Festival), “Brothers Shadow” (director Todd Yellin/Tribeca Film Festival). His commercial work has gathered awards both in the US and internationally.

Mr Bogdahn currently resides in New York City.
